Miguel Montesinos is Chief Technical Officer at Prodevelop. He is a Telecommunication Engineer, Telematics spacialist by Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV) 1994. He also Master in Business Administration (MBA) by Universidad Católica de Valencia (2003).
He is focussed on geospatial technologies since 1994, when he began working with Geographic Information Systems on X-Windows workstations. He has been working along these years with evolving geospatial technologies as client/server, Windows-based, Web Mapping, Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI), mobile mapping, etc. He has played the role of developer, analyst, consultant and project manager.
He is responsible at Prodevelop for the area of geospatial technologies, havind leaded the strategic shift towards open source based systems, also know as FOSS4G (Free and Open Source Software for Geoinformatics). He is member of the gvSIG Technical committee as well as member of the Project Steering Committee. He is also member of the Boards of the Spanish language Local Chapter of the OSGeo Foundation.
He has participated as a presenter at several congresses and technical days, like the International gvSIG Conference, Free GIS Days at Girona, FOSS4G (Free and Open Source Software for Geoinformatics), Jornadas sobre Infraestructuras de Datos Espaciales Españolas (JIDEE), Jornadas sobre Movilidad Galileo, etc.
